Hello all. If anyone does not now, the Firebee is coming
along nicely. From the last bit of news, it looks like
it is almost ready to ship. Should be one hell of an Atari
clone. Anyone here on the list to receive besides me?

Sounds great!
The important for me was to get boths things:
- a faster machine with newer technologies (Ethernet, memory cards, USB)
- the old ports (rom, DMA) to keep running my old stuff.

Guillaume.

Sorry it took so long to replty, been busy. Yes it does sound
great. Need to get a new tower and a PCI backplane to get
things working. I will probably build this before I start
on the upgraded Falcon system.

Likewise. My Atari use is now at hobby status -- I'd love a faster
Atari, but also need a new MacBook. :-(

Yeah it is a little expensive (about $800), but I need something
faster then my 16meg Falcon and this machine will fill my needs
for years to come.

Yes, the process of building the first series has begun, it will take some
months to complete.
But there is still a huge amount of work to do on the software.

Yes, there needs to be software and most important, drivers.
It will have 4 USB ports and I would to be able to use things
like a USB printer. Too bad Frank Nauman passed away. He would
have been an asset in this regard.

Basically, if an open-source driver exists for some operating system (ex:
Linux), there are chances that the device could work on Atari machines one
day. In the opposite case, it is will probably never be possible.
I don't know in which category fall USB printers.

It would be nice if the B&B brothers would do an update to NVDI and add
the USB port as an option.
