Hello all, I was wondering if someone could point me in the right
direction.I have, after alot fiddeling. finally got a cd drive installed. I
used HDDRIVER. The drive appears at bootup and is given a drive letter, but
I cant access any media. The icon can be highlighted but the mouse pointer
dosn`t change after a double click. What have I done wrong or havn`t
done.Any help would be appreciated. Cheers.

Do you have a CD-ROM driver installed? HDDRIVER alone is not sufficient
to read CDs.

You need a CD driver.
The common one, and free, is METADOS.
You can find it on the WEB, it requieres a little text file to be
adapted to your own configuration. The default text file (CONFIG.SYS??)
contains a lot of detailled explanations.
But... If you are using a STE, some DMA/SCSI interfaces don't work with
CDs... I had two of them in the past.

You would also need the software from Anodyne (Extendos Gold, Cd
Backup, etc.) That is what I use and they all work great. With this
software you can also hook up a DVD drive to your Atari.
